Beverly Widger, SPHR, SHRM SCP

Beverly (Bev) Widger brings an extensive background in human resources as a Consultant at Mather Associates, a New England based consulting firm specializing in leadership, organizational development and constructive change for corporate, nonprofit and municipal organizations.
Bev’s human resources career spans over 25 years. As a human resource consultant, she provides people-focused solutions to small to medium sized businesses and non-profits in New Hampshire and Vermont. Her goal is to provide emerging and growing organizations with the human resources tools they need to succeed and grow, including recruiting, talent management, HR audits, policy development, training and award-winning HR practices.
Recently retired from Mascoma Bank as the Chief Human Resource Officer, under her HR leadership, the Bank was recognized for innovative benefits and an inclusive workplace, resulting in awards for Best Places to Work in VT, Best Companies to Work for in NH, CIGNA’s 2018 Northeast Wellbeing Award, the Vermont Wellness Award and the American Psychological Association national award for the Psychologically Healthy Workplace 2019. Bev was responsible for instituting programs such as paid volunteer time off, paid parent/caregiver leave, student loan repayment plan, and participation in the Work United and emergency loan benefit, a Bridges Out of Poverty Program of Granite United Way. As a human resource, business, and operations manager, Bev has worked a variety of industries including accounting, retail, manufacturing, distribution and library services. She also has experience as a classroom teacher.
Bev’s non-profit experience includes being on the boards of Leadership New Hampshire, Career CLiC (formerly Upper Valley Business and Education Partnership), Sullivan County United Way, River Valley Human Resource Association (Founding President), SHRM Vermont State Council (Former State Director), Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) – Served on the international Special Expertise Panel for employee relations. She was awarded the HR Professional of the Year of the River Valley and the New Hampshire HR Hero Award for her contributions to the HR profession.
Bev holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Plymouth State University, and credits towards her MBA from New York Institute of Technology. She is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and is certified in the Predictive Index. She lives in Plainfield, New Hampshire with her husband, Bob, where she actively volunteers for various organizations and town committees. Her daughter lives in Washington, DC with her three grandchildren. When not busy consulting and volunteering, she spends time researching her roots, learning new technologies, catching up on her reading, and visiting her grandchildren. She has a keen interest in New Hampshire, local history and the Cornish Art Colony.
